McCain may be the surprise..

   Iowa primary today..McCain in surprising third..so far..

   Not my favorite, but McCain seems to be gaining nationally..If he does persevere he could be the nominee. He would need conservative christian to bolster his weak spots.
  Huckabee seems a natural.

   If as it appears, the wicked witch of the east  wins..neither Edwards or Obama would fill the bill, so may need a less liberal southerner to balance her.. Who ???

i actually pulled for mccain when he ran against bush.  and i was bummed he didnt get the nomination.  but i am glad he didnt. 
 look at  everything he has done hand in hand with some of the key democrat politicians, combined with him being on record that he would NOT  torture anyone regardless of how many lives it might save,   with his anti gun history; i just cant support the guy any longer.
 i take nothing away from the man and i respect him immensely,  but i dont want him to be the one to stand between me and the enemy.   we need a lion, and i am afraid mccains days of leading the pride are over.  sadly,  i dont see a lion anywhere.

  Myronman, GB..

   I feel about as you guys do about McCain ! The things you mentioned, plus his McCain-Feingold bill that I personally believe undercuts the first amendment.
  I appreciate his service and his backing of our troops and their war efforts and I also agree that we must BEAT the terrorists into the ground..because that seems to be the only thing they understand ( but most of the Rep candidates believe that)
 
   Being an Evangelical Christian.. seems I recall an insult to us  by McCain back in the 2000 race...
