I hunt every year with a swedish M38 in 6.5x55. I have a cheap sporter stock on it, a timney trigger, a winchester type safety and a Alpen scope on it. The whole package cost less than most of my other rifles, but is by far the most accurate bolt rifle I have. I shoots sub-minute of angle with 95 grain v-max, 120 NBT and 140 sst. It has killed pronghorn, deer, coyotes, prarie dogs, ground squirrels, jack rabbits, etc. Will be adding a few more whitetails to the list when the TN rifle season opens in a late Nov. I just had it out in CO coyote hunting and practiced on a few Prarie Dogs. I killed them out to 300 and the 95 grain v-max is a red vapor special. No worry about wounding them.
Good hunting,
Brian
