Hello all I just joined this forum and am glad I did. I am glad there is a section dedicated to the Encore. I have owned a Encore 209X50 for several years and love the performance of it. I have killed several deer with it. Well I traded for a 280 Rem 24" blue barrel. I got a box of 140grn Core-Lokt with it and installed the barrel and shot it at 25yrds. the first three shots were 1 1/2" apart in a triangle, well I said something ain't right. I continued firing it for 18 more times. The last three were touching each other. I called Thompson and they said send it back and that is where I stand at the moment, waiting for barrel to come back. I noticed the side of the barrel had the bluing worn off lightly where the forearm contacts the barrel. Well I have been doing some reading on this site as well as others that the following could be problems, head space, hinge pin, forearm contact, misalignment of chamber to bore. What are the suggestion and experience anyone has had with this problem and any suggestion are welcome, I just want the gun to shoot acceptably.
Thanks for any input!!!
