Bergara Muzzleloader Barrels

  Has anyboby bought one of the new Bergara 50 cal  muzzle loader barrels for the Encore?  I am thinking of buying one in SS but would like to find out a little more about them before I do.  I was wonder about the quality and how they shoot?  I see they don't come with sites I was wondering if they are drilled and tapped for them?  I can't  use a  regular scope her in Wisconsin so I would have to install sites on it.  Any help will be appreciated.

They are good barrels and in some cases they are better than t/c's. They are drilled and tapped for a t/c scope base so any t/c base will work. They are good quality the stainless is mattle finish. I thought that if you were in Wisconsin you could use a no power scope like a red dot or a 1x20? I am not sure if they make a model with sites. If they do get it and if they don't I might would go with t/c. Here is their process http://www.bergarabarrels.com/process.html

I received one for Christmas,  Lock up loose as a goose.  Would not consider firing it.

Will try the Bergara repair route one time.  The only reason I just didn't return it for refund was the visual quality of the bore.

we'll see what happens.   Mine did come with open sights and is drilled and tapped for a scope

Mine all lock up very tight. Both of mine shoot better and are of better fit and finish of my encore. Make sure its not your frame. Bergara has good CS as I have heard. I think you contact CVA. Not sure but go ask on the CVA forum because I know of a member who got the wrong barrel and they replaced it no questions asked.

Don't know about the 209x.50 but my .243 Bergara is sweet. Not a problem, and little over 1-1/4" groups at 100 yards just using some handloads I had laying around.
