« on: November 16, 2007, 02:43:42 PM »
Can someone tell me anything about this pistol?

Is there any way to put a scope on it?

Ricky, why don't you contact some of the dealers who sell this air pistol? They would/should have the info you seek. I remember the old 5G RWS could take a scope so it's hard for me to imagine this one not also. Nevertheless, seems to me that you should be able to get this information easily enough from the dealers. ---Mike

I sent an email to Airgun Depot Customer Care about it and this is what they sent back

No the RWS 5G does not have the capability to mount a scope on it.

Interesting. Thanks for the information. I really wanted to scope it for squirrels and such.

I also wanted to scope it. I wanted to use it for practice for my encore and contender. and maybe do some small animal hunting.

Does anyone know RWS has a website of contact info?

Get yourself a Crosman pump pistol, scope it, zero it for about 10-15 yards and limit yourself to head shots (using  ammo the gun itself prefers) to no more than 20 yards. The Crosman pump will be alot easier to shoot I guarantee you and much less expensive. Also, the 5G Magnum from independent testing gets NOWHERE near the velocities advertised. The Crosman 1377 will easily do over 500fps with 10 pumps and a heavy pellet (10.5gr.) and right around 600fps with an 8gr. dome AND do so WITHOUT recoil!!! ---Mike

Thanks for the tip. I chronoed my sons old crosman 706 pump and it pushed 650 with eight pumps. I have yet to see a gun that shoots what the manufacture claims....

I have a 5G.  It will not take a scope.  I really like mine, but I do not have a crony to check the speed.  It is accurate with open sights.

I called Compasseco and they said no scope. Can't drill it either since you will drill into the spring. I think I'll go the crossman route
