Good hog hunting bullet for 44 mag revolver?

I've used cast bullets on hogs now I want to try a good expanding bullet. What works good on hogs up to 200 pounds in a 44 mag revolver? Thanks.

Questor, you may want to rethink what you're asking for.  Any expansion turns the bullet into a parachute.  Pigs are tough.  Even a sow without a gristle plate has skin akin to armor plating.  Thick and tough.  A boar almost defies description when you consider getting a bullet through each side.  At pistol velocities you want penetration, penetration, penetration.  The most I ever go in the expansion department when pigs are involved is to cast 1/2 ww and 1/2 lead and I keep those loads separate to shoot from my carbine, not the pistol.

Hornady 300 grn XTP-HP will do all you need with a hog around 200 lbs. Meat hogs under 150 lbs can be taken cleanly with a good 240 grain pill.

I'm going retro for this hunt and will be trying the 250 grain Nosler HG partition. I've tried the 300 grainers and I don't think I need them for hogs. The 240 grain cast bullets have been fine. I'll see how these Noslers do on the small meat hogs I'll be hunting this time. I'll be interesting to see what kind of penetration I get from them. I got the bullets on Saturday and it's a long bullet with the portion forward of the partition being little more than a giant hollowpoint cavity with only a little lead in it. So I expect very quick initial expansion followed by reasonably good penetration.

We'll also be using a .308 with 150 Speer Hot Cor bullets. My son will use that.

I think you have made a very good choice. I used the Swift 300gr A-Frame bullets which are very similar. A 325lb boar did not stop that bullet from penetrating BOTH grizzle plates. Blood shot out of both sides of the big pig for about 35yds, which is where he dropped. The 250gr version should be more than adequate for pigs up to 200lbs.
