Trying to replace stolen Winchester rifle.
« on: July 03, 2003, 06:49:55 PM »
I had a Winchester .22 bolt action that I purchased around 1973 or 1074, and it had a very crisp mechanism.  The gun dealer I bought it from said that they did not make very many of these rifles, and that they were manufactured "too well."  He said that they were worth more than the selling price, but they were a little more expensive than most people would pay for a .22 BA.  He said that they were equal to an Anschutz any day. It was clip-fed (5 or 7 shots), and had a squared-off trigger guard and the back of the receiver was also flat.

This gun was stolen in 1978, and I would like to replace it.  I thought it was a Model 67, but I found one of those, and it was not the same.

This gun was exceptionally accurate, probably because of the speed of the firing mechanism.  But I cannot find out what that gun was.  Does anyone have any idea?

Thank you for any assistance or suggestions!

If you go to Auction Arms at the site below they have a target model 52 pictured there.  See if the action looks anything like what you had.
