I have a .308 Survivor, and yes the stocks dimensions are on the small side including the trigger-grip. I'd only keep the Survivor stock for precisely that reason, that a survival kit and extra rounds are stuffed in it. Otherwise the Choate NEF Varmint stock and forearm are muuuccccch nicer! And fit better.
However, I wish the store-arm was larger (longer and wider), but also that the stock was wider (thicker) with a better-designed butt pad/recoil pad, that opened and closed easier. Still, one makes-do .....
