Just got a model 70 carbine with iron sights in .270 and has a 20 inch barrel ,serial number ,g1719xxx,anyone know date of manufacture and any infro on this gun,thanks.

Looks like a pushfeed Model 70 from the eighties...........I bought one in 30-06 in 1984..............They didnt come with sights...............Maybe someone put those on?................I think they made them a few years and then lengthend the barrel to 22 inches and called it the lightweight rifle..............................Bob
