Ok guys, I have a question. Nothing ever seems to go the way it is supposed to for me.... I have a RCBS digital scale. I leveled it, calibrated it, zeroed it and began measuring my powder. Everything seemed to be going well. Much easier than my old beam scale. Anyway, Then I noticed it was registering a few tenths of a grain with the empty pan in place. I rezeroed, and tried again. It seemed to be working, but every now and then I would see it wasn't registering zero again. I went back and reweighed all my charges. Some were off as much as a 1/2 grain. I rezeroed and weighed them all again. Afterward I randomly weighed some of them. None were right on the mark. Some were off a few tenths too much and some were a couple tenths too low. Anyone have any suggestions?
Funny thing about reloading....when all is going well it is so much fun. When something goes wrong it is the most frustrating thing, except for computers, there is.

Are you allowing a five minute warm up period before calibration and rezero? Make sure their is no air conditioning vent blowing on the scale. I would then check the calibration by useing the check weights that came with the scale.

Tony,
I fear you have discovered the bane of digital scales............warm-up and drafts. If I were using the scale, I would leave it on continuously and if you don't have a calibrated weight (close to the same weight/charge of a favorite round) to check out your dig. scale, make one and use the beam scale to calibrate it. If you decide it still doesn't function correctly, send it back!

Keep it away from cordless phones, too. That'll drive them batty. The accuracy isn't promised to be dead on, but +/- 1/10th gr.

I have found the same thing with mine. Don't let any kind of breeze blow on it. Mine will be working great and then all of sudden it will start bouncing back and forth from 0 or what ever I have in the pan to a error message of some kind. I called RCBS about it and they said that it wasn't getting a steady current of electricy to it from the plug that it was plugged into. They are pickey these scales.

Tony , nothing against electronic scales, but what about a good powder measure that throws within a tenth? Don't know what your loading but I've got a dillon that throws dead on with N-135 I know there scales out there with a tapper on them, these can be excellent.
