Bullets for Swiss K31
« on: January 13, 2008, 03:10:13 AM »
I am having trouble finding CBs for my K31. The 174gr Lymans I have cast for my 20-06 and 30-40 will not wok. First, the bore ridding section of the bullet will not enter the bore, so I need a front end smaller than .295. Secondly, the rifling begins about .010 or so in front of the case mouth, this means I need a short groove diameter section and a long bore riding section as I do not want the base and gas check any lower than the base of the case neck.
Are there any standard molds that will cast the bullet I need in the 150 to 200 grain range?

I've had great luck with the Lee C-312-155-2R in mine, sized to .309. It feeds through the magazine properly, and groups way better than an iron sighted military rifle has any right to.

Bill,

I have had pretty good luck with the Lyman 311413 and 311329 in the K-31.  If you would like to try them I can send you some samples.  I have also shot 311291 and 311284 in the K-31.
