I bought my first handi
« on: January 18, 2008, 04:57:57 PM »
Just picked it up today. I had been looking at a Survivor 308. We couldn't agree on a price so I ended up buying a used 270 winchester handi at a different shop. The previous owner painted the(wood) stock and forearm black, I'm not sure about leaving it like it is or stripping it off. I can't wait to shoot it, however the weekend weather forecast may push that back a few days.

Congrats and welcome here. A 270 Handi is a good chambering (I have owned 2 of them) and many here are very happy with theirs. If you are looking for a 308 BB you can always send your frame back and get one fitted... but then again you might enjoy that 270 so much you might not need it :P Either way, enjoy the stay and info here at GB. If you have a NEF/H&R question it can be answered here.
Have fun

Hello buttonbuckmaster, Welcome to GBO and congrats on the 270.
Let us know how it shoots, I always enjoy reading range reports.

I like your handle, That's a good one!

GOOD SHOOTING!

I shot a few rounds through it today just to make sure the gun worked. No problems, I didn't bother to sight it in today. Wind gusts at 25mph and a wind chill of 7. I'm getting soft in my old age lol.  Expect plenty of stupid questions from me in the future, I see me shooting this gun alot.
