We're in Florida now, but have been considering a move to Alabama..  Any recommendations on areas to look for property or not to look?
Might be an Alabama Handi owner in the future.

Not trying to steal the thread by asking about property.  PM if you have info..

It's me ! Kenny , Feb. 2-3 ,2008 there is a gun show in Anniston ,Al at the City Meeting Center  1615 Noble St . I would like for all the Alabama Guys that can meet at the show say ( Say Hi Yall ) spend some time looking around, go to Jack's sit and shoot the bull . We can do this on Sat. or Sunday . the show hours are Sat. 9am-5pm and Sunday 10 am to 4pm . If you think you can make it speak up and we'll pick a day and time to do it !!!! I understand that you guys from L.A. may have a hard time getting here , but if you can we would like to see you .

Alabama Handi owners, have y'all heard anything about Alabama  following Mississippi's lead and allowing Handi's (and other older firearms) to be included in the "primative weapons" classification and legal for deer hunting?  I've heard that Alabama is going to do this next fall.

I haven't heard this, no.  As much as I love my .45-70, I hope we don't.  How is a single shot cartridge gun a primitive weapon?  Why restrict it to .45-70-- the .30-06 is over a hundred years old now.  Mississippi can do whatever it wants, I don't agree with it.

I hope it doesn't happen either.Kinda would take the fun out of having a primitive weapon season. That's my opinion.

Until last year, in Tennessee we were getting more season, or higher bag limit to counteract the shrinking hunter population.  I haven't seen kill stats for 2007 yet but I know deer kill was way off due to the "Blue tongue disease" caused by the extreme drought in middle TN.

I wonder if the Alabama and Mississippi hunters have shown similar trends?  That could account for trying to increase hunting by relaxing standards.  Also I am curious about stats from those states.

Any more "Primitive Handi ideas"? :(
