Price check on Mini 14
« on: March 05, 2008, 11:26:45 AM »
I found an All Weather (Stainless/Synthetic) Mini 14 Ranch Rifle, at a local gun shop that looks to be in excellent condition.  According to the serial number it was manufactured in 2000.   The shop owner wants $775 out the door for it.  Is this a reasonable price for this gun?

That's way too much for a used one and pretty sure that's more than the new ones I've seen lately.

That kind of money will get you into an AR---better shooter with cheap- plentiful hi-cap mags.

I like Mini's -but at these prices-they are no longer a good value.

That high price is scary...if I was going to buy one I would get one of their new ones as Ruger supposedly have retooled the Mini-14 to make it more accurate.  The older ones had changing point of aim and were disappointing in the accuracy department from what I have heard.

I would be Leary of that gun shop owner, what other items is he overpricing?

I've seen new ones at gun shows for around $550, but that was a few months ago.

D'oh!   I meant to type $575.   But I still thought this a tad high.
