Ultracomp or muzzlebrake question

For those of you shooting the ultracomp barrels or a barrel with an aftermarket brake do you run into problems with the brake coming loose?  I bought a 6mmx284 barrel from a forum member and it had a threaded muzzlebrake.  I finally had a chance to shoot it yesterday and it wasn't doing that great until I realized the muzzlebrake was loose.  After I tightened it up the next 3 shots went into a half inch triangle.  Then the group started to open up and I checked the brake sure enough it was coming loose again.  I'm thinking about drilling through the brake and creating a detent in the barrel threads then tap the brake for a set screw.  I may just shoot it without the brake???  Just wondering if this is a problem with the ultracomps or if anyone has any ideas.  I also considered some loc tite but don't know if it would hold up to the heat/pressure.  I will say one thing for the brake it is effective.  The felt recoil with mid level loads was about like a 223, maybe even less.

I've never had a problem or read about a problem with an UC loosening up, but if I did, I'd just put some green or purple loctite on it, if that didn't work, go to the blue.

Don't know about your brake but this was a common problem with the FAL's I used to mess with. Like Tim said I'd go right to the blue LT I used red on FAL's because the barrels would get very hot in rapid fire situations but blue should do the trick on a Handi. JMHO -F50

I would also go with the LT. Drilling and tapping the brake with a drill point on the barrel is not a good idea. The force applied by the set screw will create a tight spot that can create all kinds of problems with bullet flight, pressure, and possibly fatigue failure around the area of the set screw on the barrel. JMHO.

What caliber rifle and what kind of brake .... just wondering as I have thought of getting one

The barrel started as a 243 then was rechambered to a 6mmx284.  I would assume the brake was installed by the smith that did the rechamber.  I have no idea who made the brake.  Its effective in reducing felt recoil but with it working loose every few shots it is affecting the barrel harmonics and causing the groups to open up.  I'm not into using muzzle brakes so I'm not able to identify it just by looking at it.  I'll take a pic of it and post shortly, you may be able to tell what kind of brake it is just by looking at it.

I have owned 2 UltraComp barrels and neither one had a problem with the brake coming loose. Even after repeated times of taking it on and off. Like has been said, a dab of LT should do the trick.
Just curious, how small are the threads?

Here are a couple pics of the brake.  The threads are pretty fine I would guess 28tpi.  It looks like 1/2x28 thread to me.
