19" bbl .444 Contender value?
« on: January 23, 2008, 10:01:08 AM »
My Son just e-mailed me that posted on his work bulletin board is a T/C Contender .444 Marlin with a 19 in. barrel for sale for $375.  Don't know any details about it.  Have e-mailed my Son to contact owner and find out what model frame, SS or blued, if bbl is bull or standard, and if wood or composite stock and for-end, etc.  Can anyone here tell me if $375. is a good price?

I only own Contender handguns in .221, 7x30, and .35 Rem., and have taken a lot of game with the last two bbls, and have had them for a long time.  I would like to have a Contender rifle in a large cal. for black bear, etc.  I think the 19" bbl length must be a custom bbl.  What do you  folks think?  I'll post more when my Son e-mails me back with more info.  Thanks for your advice..........Gary  :)

Great deal if it is a complete gun in good or better condition. Frames go for around $200.00 in decent used condition, stocks and forend another $75.00 (used good or better condition) and around $180.00 for the barrel. Plus he will probably take $350.00 for it if he is asking $375.00

Good luck. Be it is gone fast.
