Where Buying 28 ga Hulls?

May I ask where are you all getting your 28 ga hulls?  I Like to use the STS green hulls. I bet I have reloaded some them 10 to 14 times. Of course they all are split up and look bad.  The Price I hear for used 28 ga hulls is 14 cents each. I want to order the Thermagic-shotshell Hull Conditioner being sold by Ayers Arsenal. I will let the list know what I think of it. It is probably another toy. Thanks for your information. Twyman

I know a couple of guys who shoot 28 gauge. They buy a flat of ammo then reload it until it's time to buy another flat.  I think the reason is that new hulls cost so much that it's worth buying loaded ammo initially. I could be wrong.

I bought new. primed Cheddite hulls from Ballistics Products for less than I could buy used AA on ebay.  Do a Google for their website.

Don't waste your money on the hull conditioner. When they are worn out they are worn out and need to be tossed. As mentioned just buy a flat or two depending on your level of shooting and once you've shot them reload until it's time to buy more. I bought about 2000-2500 last year and am still shooting some of them up. Not all were really good loadable hulls as I found the RIO hulls not worth the trouble but they were much cheaper than the Remington STS and Winchester AA HS hulls I do reload.

May I ask ,how many boxes in a flat? I know 10 boxes to a case. How many case to a flat? Thank you for the information.

Actually it is 10 boxes to a flat and 20 boxes to a full case. Manufacturers used to package 20 boxes in a case but started packing 10 boxes to the 'case' which is called a flat by most.

Right us old timers will never learn to call the ten box flats a case. A case to me will always be 20 boxes of shells just like it was back when I started shooting skeet. A flat is 250 rounds and a case is 500 rounds.
