An 89-year-old man on Thursday wrestled a knife out of the hands of a home invader, who fled after the incident, according to Marion County authorities.

According to sheriff's deputies, Emery Demers answered a knock on the door of his home, located at 6950 Bahia Road, when a kitchen knife-wielding man forced his way in and threatened Demers.

Demers grabbed the large knife from the man and a struggle ensued, with Demers getting control of the weapon, Marion County sheriff's deputies said.

The home invader, described as a heavy-set black man wearing black clothing, then fled the residence, heading east on Bahia Road, deputies said.

A neighbor told sheriff's deputies that he saw a man pacing back and forth in front of the Demers' house for a while. The witness was at a store at the time of the incident, deputies said.

Demers said he had never seen the man before.

A search of the area failed to locate the assailant.  See your never to old to kick the sob butt!!!!!!!!

Yup, and if the old man had had a gun they probably wouldn't have to look any further than than old man's floor for the assailant.
