Sorry but i have a Marlin 917 feeding question
« on: March 23, 2008, 07:06:51 AM »
First off I want to apologize for this posting.  Im sorry.  I know that this is the incorrect place to post this.  But, I have a Marlin .17HMR.  It's a great little plinker but I have a problem with the mag feeding rounds.  I have to manually hold the mag up into the rifle on order for the next round to chamber.  Not a big deal but annoying to say the least.

I have searched for about a week on greybeard with no luck.  I have tried calling Marlin and they told me that my issue with the mag is, "standard operation procedure."

So my questions to you all is; can this issue be fixed by say a gun smith or myself? (FYI: I am a gun enthusiast at best)

Or; is this already answered in a different thread and if so would you please pm or reply to me with the link?

Thanks for all your help and once again I am sorry.

Rich

What Marlin model are we talking about ... the 917V? If so, mine has done this occasionally but never consistently. I just pop it up a little harder and then it seems to function properly.

We don't delete threads once the question is answered, but I will move it to the Rimfire forum, someone else may be having the same problem.  ;)
