7mm Rem Mag, 140 grain load projectiles
« on: January 24, 2008, 07:13:36 PM »

Which  140 grain projectiles do you use in your 7mm Rem Mag.
Thinking that either the 140 Barnes TSX or TBBC might be a good all rounder for hogs and the like.

I bought a box of the 140gr Sierra pro Hunter as they were on offer. I don't believe it's possible to find a more accurate and consistent bullet, they are great. I load them over H4831sc, and in my Savage they consistently clover leaf at 100 yards, I am very impressed and considering a box for my 308. I haven't shot a hog with them but they work extremely well on whitetails!!!

If you are shooting game you cant beat the TSX for terminal performance,if you are ONLY shooting paper or small inedible varmints the Nosler Bts are super accurate.
If it aint fair chase its FOUL,and illegal in my state!

I used to load 140gr Nosler Partitions in the 7MAG.  I ran them at about 3150fps.  It was an awesome load for GA whitetails.

I like Sierra GameKings...., although right now I'm loading 150 gr. Ballistic Silvertips.

My 140 grain bullet choice in the 7mm Rem. Mag. is the Barnes 140 gr. XLC.  Too bad they don't make them anymore.  Fortunately, when I heard production would stop, I bought a lifetime supply.

I've never tried them in the 7mm Rem. Mag. but the Barnes 140 grain TSX would probably work well.
