Here it is with the 1911 grip modification, Volquartsen  Accurizing Kit, Volquartsen target hammer, Volquartsen extractor and really like the way it feels and shoots. It was a really nice gun originally I just wanted to play I think I spent as much on the upgrades as the gun cost me.

Sweet!
I almost bought one myself, but the narrow grip was the big turn off...I wasn't daring enough to take a sander to a brand new firearm for the grip-mod.
Enjoy it!

Once starting the grip mod there was no going back but it was alot easier with the Dremel then I thought it was going to be, the material comes off real fast so take your time.

Looks good Dave! I'm assuming it's a Mklll. Great way to remove the mag disconnect by replacing the hammer with the Volquartsen unit. I'm curious about the grip mod. Did you implant grip bushing in the grip for the grip screws, or is there some other way to do it?

No it is a Mark II 22/45. I ordered the bushings and screws made for a 1911, they are JB Welded into the grip portion of the Ruger. Here is the website that describes the mods.

I have big hands and originally I put the Hogue slip on grip on it, but what I did not like was pulling it off to strip the gun down this mod makes it so the grip never needs to be taken off.
