I have reloaded a lot of bottleneck rifle cartridges, .308, 7mm-08, .30-06 for many years with out a crimp.
suddenly I'm loading some 260 remington and the bullets are loose.
some details: using rem factory brass unsized, then fired and resized..no difference
the bullets are obviously <.264 past the cannelure, but seating up to the cannelure, I can still grab the bullet and spin it
probably not a lot to go on for you guys, I can't figure it out.
I'm gonna try some speer or sierra or other type 6.5's and see if they do the same thing.
trying to remain intrigued instead of angry..
I know a factory crimp die will fix it buy I'd like to figure it out w/o just taking care of it.
pretty comical actually. how many situations are we getting peeved and if we could look at ourselves from another perspective we would be laughing our butt off.
