I think I finally found the stock for my Rem.700 SPS Varmint. I love this stock. I wanted something a little different in style than your run of the mill stock. Here it is. http://www.hsprecision.com/psc14.htm I like it more than the Choate stock I was looking at but then again it costs twice as much. I can get it for a little over $300.00. I just need to get back to work so I can get it. What do you guys think of it. Dale

I have never added a sling swivel stud to a synthetic stock before. Would I just drill a hole a little smaller than the threads and then just screw it in like I would do in wood? The reason I ask is I would like to add one for a bipod. Dale

Will you have to switch to an ADL style magazine without floorplate? With the integral trigger guard on this HS , the current BDL style floorplate on the SPS is obviously not utilized with this stock.

As far as the style of the stock , I like the thumbhole style and wide fore end for shooting off a rest.

Yes you are correct. I will not be able to use the floor plate. I don't think I would need to buy anything additional. I believe I would just use the mag spring I already have. Dale

As far as the sling swivel stud , on my HS stocks there is a actually threaded metal insert that the stud screws on to. Not sure if a stud used for a wood stock would work well with the kevlar/fiberglass mix.
