1903 Springfield help needed.
« on: January 23, 2008, 05:00:34 PM »
 Howdy ya'll

About 30yrs ago my Pop gave me a new stock for a rifle to play with. Have no idea where he got it and he passed away so I can't ask him. It got stuck back in my closet in my old room until just recently when I remembered it and when and got it out.
Once home I set about finding out what it fit. I finally found out it's a 03 Springfield. This is a brand new stock with a stained finish and the butt plate and sling swivels in place.
Now here's my plan. I want to build it to stock specs, no sporter. Where can I find original parts at decent prices?  Isn't there a early action I should stay away from? Do all of the different 03's interchange? Thanks for any help ya'll can give me.

Andrew
