Finally fixed the Marlin Model 60
« on: March 04, 2008, 04:14:50 AM »
a few months back i had asnt about a problem i had with only being able to shoot one kind of ammo (cci blazer) but i couldnt shoot other rounds i had(winchester HP's).  Someone suggested it was the firing pin. So i dissassembled it, let it sit for a while after i cleaned everything up. Finally ordered the pin and recoil spring from brownell's, long story short it works great. What a difference, by eye it looks like my old pin could be a full 16th or more shorter, totally flat.

Very glad that it worked out.

Those Mod 60's are durable little guns. They rarely break to the point were they need to be scrapped.  Usually, just a good cleaning and perhaps minor parts replacing is all that's needed to give them another 20-25 years.

Good Luck and enjoy.   :)

I know what you mean EVOC. I had one that I had bought from a friend of mine and I loved it. Unfortunately it had an accident. I would like to find either an older model 60 or get one of the glenfield model 60's.

I tend to be partial to the Glenfield models.  I fancy the embossing and the wider front forend.  However, if it's a Model 60 or any of it's cousins then that's good enough for me.  ;)

I have to tend to agree with that statement.
