cool older shotgun...
« on: October 06, 2008, 11:49:23 AM »
at local gun smitty, he has forsale a different shotgun. A sears and roebuck 12 ga. "Ted Williams" edition. That's right the decapitated ball player who now lives in a jar. Thought was weird, would like to get info if possible, like when they would have been made, etc. The gun is going for $150.00, pump action, no scope, some nice detail on the forearm. I am not pimping this guy, but thought with the sox in the playoffs, well you know.

Sear bought a lot of different guns from different sources that were just a little off from thier normal line.
If I remember right.  i don't have my referance book in front of me but they were made by High Standard.  They are good scatter guns and would be functional for all your scatter gun needs

The High Standard shotguns are HEAVY. Great for the waterfowl crowd, but will wear out an upland game hunter quickly. Just have to determine your use and go with it.

Some Ted Williams were Winchester, some Marlin, some HS. I'm sure others too. AyA made some guns that Sears sold under the J.C. Higgins name.
