Has anyone done a study of how long a properly cared for inline .50 barrel ( specifically a T/C omega) barrel should last? I'm thinking almost indefinately as erosion shouldn't be an issue and the sabots should give very little wear. Perhaps cleaning patches would cause more wear than firing. I've put 1200 rounds through a Traditions Tracker 209 and 1100 through my Omega Z5 and excepting a bit of silvering at the muzzles , both rifles still show about 85% of the blueing remaining in the bore. It would be interesting to see such a study. One of the attractions of muzleloaders ( to me) is how long they can last when properly cared for. How many rounds through your barrrels and how has accuracy changed , if at all.
