i hate to rain on you's guy's parade.... but the stats are warped.   they are not an accurate reflection of who has been around how long or how much time on has invested here.   they only reflect that since they started working, which hasnt been all that long.

as far as numbers of posts,  some guys wear that as a badge of honor;  which is fine by me.  but i see so many making posts so short so frequently that it is obvious that they are just trying to get their post count up.   redhawk1 was famous for this.   it seems silly to me.

some people i see online so much i wonder if  they ever spend any time outdoors at all.  i know age can be a factor, and weather, and this is a great place for those folks to share what they have learned and still stay active in their beloved pastimes: and this is a great outlet for that.   others are simply self proclaimed internet gurus.

on the subject of lots of posts.... i look more at how helpful a person has been with their posts, how they act toward others, and their general tone as a way to shape what i think of them.   their number of posts rarely holds influence over me,  unless they are VERY new to the site and being unruley.   it also raises concerns if a business deal may be in the works; but i have done them anyway if their other posts pass muster.

in the end, i wouldnt put alot of stock in it.

I agree and diagree. I don't wear it as a badge of Honor and I never will. Its just amazing to me that how fast I became addicted to this site. The post aren't only about suggesting and giving advise some of them are just pure fun like these or some like the politics ones that have nothing at all to do with the outdoors. If I make short post it dosen't mean I am trying to get my # of post up but I may not have much to say but want to touch on the topic and I may have something to say later. Thats how I think it works but each has his on opinion. It doesn't really matter though.  :) I have gotten tired of the pollitics here lately also. You can't pick up a newspaper to turn on the news without hearing the same thing about Hillary and Obama, Then you turn on the radio to the talk shows and all you hearis about how Huckabee and McCain are dems running on a republican ticket. Its really stupid and it make you sick of it after a while.
The sportsman lives his life vicariously. For he secretly yearns to have lived before, in a simpler time. A time when his love for the land, water, fish and wildlife would be more than just part of his life. It would be his state of mind
