New Buffalo Classic...
« on: December 18, 2008, 09:11:05 AM »
Stopped by a local retailer on a whim to see if they had any handis in stock.  I've been planning on getting a 45-70 as my first H&R.
Well, no handi's in that cartridge, but they do have a Buffalo Classic for 375.00.
I'm thinking of calling the wife to as her opinion (permission!!).
From what i've seen,  this seems to be a fair price.

Since I'm new to this, I have a question.  I know the BC uses the SB2 frame, so other barrels will fit, but will the forearm work with the 22" handi barrels?

She isn't responding to email or phone calls, so for the sake of efficiency, I should just go buy the rifle!!
its a 35 mile drive home from work.  the gun store is 8 miles the other way and i'm not working tomorrow...

then there's the excuse "you didn't return my call"

all that plus the fact that she got a brand new 870 pump 20 gauge a month ago (first time i'd ever held a brand new gun in my life!!!).

If i play my cards right, it should keep me out of the dog house   ;D

I'm waiting til 5:00 to see if I hear from her, if not... its buffalo classic time gentlemen!!

Make sure you tell your wife about the free pair of diamond ear rings the gun shop gives away with each Buffalo Classic during the month of December.

I have to say I've never asked my wife's permission to do anything I can think of and certainly not to spend my money or buy guns.  :o I honestly cannot understand why a person would put themselves into a position in a marriage that it's needed.  ???  ???  ??? Sorry does not compute.  ::)

Ah, it's a different world Bill...  :(  These young bucks think getting married means they got to turn over their manhood to the new wife.  After a few years them wimmins won't give it back to them even for a night!  Yes yes, I long for the days when wimmins were considered the property of the husband... when men were men...  wimmins like to be dominated!  It's the natural order of things!  I tell ya it's a commie plot to undermine the will of the american male to fight!   >:(  It's... uh, 'scuse me for a minute... Kathie wants another glass of wine...  :-[

most of the posts today were for comic relief.
While my wife and I do discuss major purchases, permission is never needed or given.

its actually went more like this...

"babe, i found the rifle i've been wanting"

"do we have the money?

"yup"

and then i now own a buffalo classic. and there was much rejoicing.
looks like my addiction has started!
Thanks for all the info everyone gave while i was deciding which gun to get!
