My Garmin GPSII+ went belly up this spring and lost all of its waypoints.  Emailed Garmin and they said the 10 year battery was dead and I would have to send it to them to replace at $89.

I really did not like the thought of that but disliked buying a new one too.

Well I got it back today:

New battery.
New battery circuit.
New key pad.
New face plate.
New antenna ( I had the old one here)
New update on the software.

No additional charges over the initial $89, and free shipping!

I wasn't too happy in the beginning but they did a fine job and never charged me for the extras.  Sounds like pretty good service to me!

They did me one better when my circuit board failed.  All the stuff you got in a new unit plus they pulled all my old waypoints from the old unit and restored them. But it was still under warranty so it didn't cost me anything.
