New vaquero POA in .357 Mag.
« on: February 24, 2008, 10:20:03 AM »
I am going to buy a a new Ruger in Vaquero in .357 mag,   I was wondering If anyone can give me a heads up as to what load the sights on the gun seem to regulated too?.   I would like to shoot 160 grain SWCGC in this gun (as I already have the mold).   The old load standard was of course the 158 grain bullets. I thought it might work out alright,

By the way. what sort of accuracy are this new guns producing in .357 mag?

Having owned numerous fixed sight guns over the years I'm convinced none are regulated period. I think I've had maybe 2 or 3 that hit close enough to point of aim to be useful for anything much passed ten yards. Some weren't even close enough for that distance. Maybe it's the way I hold them but with most all the single action cowboy type guns it seems to matter not in the least if I hold them right handed, left handed or two handed. The POI is same either way so you'll have a hard time convincing me it's me not the gun.

well I put one on layaway. so I guess we will see soon.  I have found my fixed sight Colt Agent and my S&W m36 both shoot to point of aim at 20 yards.  (10 ring on a standard 25 yard slow fire pistol target)
