¼"-20x½" unless it's an old barrel, it's listed in the FAQs.  ;)

thanks quick. i looked again i cant find it I'm having a moment i guess. i just got a 223 and want to start with the o ring with a ultra forend. the barrel channel is plenty wide enough but it rides right on the bottom of the barrel. so i figure if i start with the oring it should free float the barrel from the lug out. is this what i want to try first. this is my first 223 not to sure what to expect. i have read alot about it here but no first hand experience. its supposed to be 1 in 9 twist . i found some black hills 55 gr sp and some rem match 75 gr hp. hope it shoots good the guy i got it from said it shot good for him so i hope it dose for me . any quick tips would be great thanks again for all the info .

It's in the More Handi Info section post.

The only way to know what the twist is, is to check it, that's in the FAQs too under the twist rates. Pre-Marlin made 223 1:9" barrels don't shoot the heavier bullets any better than the 1:12" barrels do, the 2007 Marlin made barrels seem to tho.

Grammar and punctuation is excellent, we appreciate your effort. ;)
