Hey john, i cant believe anyone would even admit to knowin Finus ward, let alone on the internet!!!!! Small world, i guess. I've known Finus' sister and her family since i was a little kid here in kansas. met Finus and Wade at the cockfights in collinsville, Ok when i was probably 8 yrs old.
Finus is one of the best story tellers u could ever want to listen to, wether it B.S. or not. I guess he got out of the rooster business and is now into cuttin horses!!!
Hell i might even know you if you ever went to the fights!!  hopefully they wont outlaw it for a few more years.
if you happen to see Finus around tell him Jesse from Potwin Kansas said Hi....     Jesse Elting
if it wont shoot an inch, i dont want it!!!!!!

Hello Jesse, I spent some time at the chicken fights, and most of it was over at Collinsville. If you are from Potwin, you must have been down here with one of the Estes boys, and we probably did meet.

I've been to Potwin a few times as well. It is indeed a small world.

I took ole Finis out noodling with me one time, he's not much for getting out on the lakes, and he had a white nuckle grip on my boat all the way across Oologah Lake to where I had some barrels sunk. I used scuba gear to run my barrels with, and tossed some 30 and 40 pounders in the boat that day. Finis was quite impressed with the whole deal.

He is in the horse business now. I think he's got rid of all his roosters, it's a damn shame that the animal rights do gooders have pretty much gotten rid of rooster fighting in Oklahoma.

I'll tell Finis you said hey. He's a mess, but I'll admit I know him, and stand with him when necessary.
Hey, hold my beer and watch this.

John, i,ve known the Estes' all my life, i used to handle all of Coondogs "Ernie" roosters. he was in the other day, had been to his property in Montana for a week, came home and somethin had killed 6 of his good cocks. well the next day he caught a TOE with spots on it!!
I raised 6 stags when i was about 13and took them to collinsville, well who should i meet the first fight, Finus. He came over to me and said "boy this is a goodun, good luck your gonna need it." I just smiled because mine was the best i had. Wev turned em loose and I whipped him in about 25 seconds. he came up to me and said "youd better breed that one, he just whipped the best stag I've raised in years!!!!"
Just a little story i'll never forget.
Yep, the do-gooders are going to be the end of it all, hunting, fishing, and owning guns and Rodeos will be the next one they outlaw. Everyone needs to stand up for each other, its the only way to beat the do-gooders and tree huggers!!!   Good to know you!!!!  JESSE

A few years back when the do gooders were circulating the petition to get cock fighting on a ballot here, I posted on a fishing site asking the fellas there to support the chicken fighters.

I got several negative responses from the users of the site. They were not going to support the chicken fighters.

It got to be quite a debate about how we use animals for sport.

I don't think I made any friends in the deal, but I did make them see how in hunting and fishing animals are killed just like in cock fighting. They talked of the waste and said it was wrong to kill a chicken and toss it in the garbage can. Some even thought nothing should be killed if it's not going to be eaten.

I mentioned bait, predators, bow fishing for rough fish, shooting crows, killing snakes, things we kill and don't eat, but finally decided they were do gooders posing as fishermen on there.

You are correct, all us outdoor types, hunters, fishers, trappers, whatever, need to stick together.

If the do gooders manage to get many more things outlawed I spect I'll just be an outlaw.
Hey, hold my beer and watch this.

People dont understand the do-gooders are after everything we as outdoorsmen live and breathe for. anything that might seem unfair to an animal MUST be outlawed. from fishin with worms to havin a dog on a chain for more than a hour at a time, the dog on a chain thing was on the radio this mornin, KFDI of all places, which is the sister station to KVOO down there. The RADIO RANCH, as they call it will, soon be The Radio Petting Zoo, Where No Animals Are Harmed!!!!
We All HAVE to unite, to fight these people or one day we will just be able to Talk about fishing or shootin ducks off the river or going to the Rodeo...
SOME PEOPLE GET IT, SOME DONT, TIL ITS TOO LATE--------------JE
