Hodgedon H380 !
« on: February 11, 2008, 03:48:31 PM »
I have 3 different rifles that love this powder.  A CZ 6.5x55, Remington VTR 308, Savage 7mm-08.  Anyone else having luck with it?

I use it in my .243 to drive 55 gr. NBT's.  Does a great job!  I'ma gonna give it a shot with several other calibers just for grins!   ;D

I've shot tons of it thru various 22-250's. (slight exaggersion) It's a great powder especially if you're needing to load a lot of rounds and want to go straight from the powder measure to the case and bypass the scale.
I've had my best luck in 7-08 with H4895. Maybe I'll have to give H380 a try in that.

I have used H380 in my Savage 22-250. Shoots very accurate in cooler weather, but when the temp rises, my group sizes
get bigger. I went from .35" to 1.5".  I switched to Varget, not as accurate, but more consistent.  .50" groups.

I've used H-380 in a 338-06 imp with 210 barnes,accuracy
was less than 2 in. but 4064 and h4350 shot better.
that's the fun in reloading, shoot'em all till you find
what works.
