It is sad, or maybe I got the wrong idea
« on: February 18, 2008, 12:46:00 PM »
for the last twenty years or so I regarded the 7mm-08 and the 260 remington as youth and ladie's guns.  Now that I own both, I'm so impressed, wish I had gotten into them earlier.

If I had a shot that the fate of the world rested on, I'd be reaching for one of those.

They are both fantastic rounds. I have been wanting both myself. It is a little hard to find the 260 in a Remington 700 action without paying an arm and a leg. For this and other reasons ( ONE BEING I REALLY LIKE THE 308 FAMILY ) I am considering a 7mm-08 because it shoots a little flater than the 308. Dale

It's funny, we read so much about cartridges and we pick our favorites from experiances in the past, we sometimes underestimate many of the ones we think to be lesser.
How many do ya think feel the same about the 243?  :)

I still shoot a my rem 572 .22lr more than anything else, and the .22 is definitely known as the kids gun.

I have always been a fan of the 223-284 calibers... though never had a whole lot of use for them... there are quite a few with great appeal.

I don't know how many posts I've read here with regard to .234 Win ability or lack thereof.  I personally and many others, who have given it a honest chance with heavy bullets on large game, are extremely satisfied with the round.  No argument here from me with any round based on the .308.
