I get the same groups from my Hastings barrel. I thought the SST was grouping bad because of the slow twist, but yours has a fast twist and same results. Just maybe the twist rates don't mean all that much. I've been using the BIR's for a long time and haven't found anything to out shoot them at 100yrds.
RIP Mike. Died on July 14th, around 2am, with his family at his side, he went peacefully to be with god.

I was shooting some of Remington slugs out of my Remington 870 20 ga w/ very poor results.
It was giving me 2 inch groups at 25 yds.  It seems that the guns that do not shoot the Remington, Winchester, ect type slugs do better with the Hornady SST.  I will be trying them out in a few weeks.

I'm getting a 3" hole average at 100 yards with SST's in my 12 ga. H&R USH. When I first bought the gun, I tried the  Lightfield Commander IDS. I couldn't get them any better than 6" at 100 yards. Every gun is different, just try as many differant rounds as the pocket book can handle and you'll find what the gun likes to eat. I agree with the ambulance jockey about the Remington's. I had an 870 12ga. and it couldn't keep them any tighter than 8" at 50 yards.
