migration possible ?
« on: July 02, 2003, 03:01:38 PM »
Has anybody heard of, or seen PD's in areas that they aren't normally. I have a co-worker that swears he seen a PD in his pasture.  We live 250 mi east of normal PD territory. He said it looked like a gaint flickertail ( Robertson ground squirrel), but alot smaller than a woodchuck. We're way out of rock marmot area also. I plan on getting out to this pasture, to get a look see , for myself.  I grew up in this area,  I have to say I seen more , and varied wildlife, that wasn't here 30 yrs ago. Also this spotting from about 15'. On

I would be doubtful of migration.  More likely someone released one of the many prairie dog pets that have been bought/sold.

Pets schmets. If I could just figure out how to make a good gravy out of them I'd be in heavan (and weigh 350 pounds).
Perception is everything. For instance, a crowded elevator smells different to a midget.

ron, never gave the pet thing a thought ,but s'pose it's possible. Hey dogshooter, if you don't hit them with a bullet starting 35 to 4000fps, there might be gravey material left(hehe) On

Down around Greensboro NC, in Irving park, a big rich peoples houses place, they're was a prairy dog loose a couple of weeks ago. they thought it had monkey pox, and was set out in the park by its owner( it was pet). Anyway, they called in animal control. they caught the prairy dog that was supposed to have monkey pox. turns out it was just a pregnant hampster!!!!!
