This morning my wife went with me to check my trap which sits near a creek and the bottom of a hill. I decided to take her new NE single shot .243. We parked the Mule and walked slowly down the dirt road stalking towads the trap. Been known to find hogs both inside and outside lately. Well we noticed the trap door down and inched around the bend in the road but there were no hogs inside. When we were about 60 yds from the trap a pack of small smoker size hogs came out of the woods right to the trap. There we were standing out in the middle of the hill and the hogs never looked our direction. My wife shouldered her new rifle and nailed a nice little piggy. The pig dropped at the shot and the others headed back into the woods. I got to tell ya I was so excited to see my wife take her first pig ever and with her brand new rifle too. And let me tell ya, 3 hous over mesquite this afternoon and that pig tastes real good. Happy 4th to ya'll.

That's great Mark. Say that's Teresa's first hog? Faye got her first and so far ONLY hog when we were hunting in FL back in '97 I believe it was at Carter's Pasture. She sure is wanting another one big enough for the wall but so far they've eluded her.

What a Lucky Guy! My wife likes to shoot pistols and small bore rifle, 22rf and 243 bolt gun. AT PAPER ONLY. Fishing? She won't put bait on or take fish off. Keeps me very busy. Ohh! BTW, Yes I did think about not baiting or taking fish off, but she won't even go if I don't. Would rather have her go with me. Congrats!!

Bill, I sure will tell her. Yep it was her first. Usualy whe we have triedd night hunting, she gets ready to leave too early. She lovesher new lite gun too. Taking her to RockyTp Sep 12th for her first ram.

ey Randy, I know wht a mean. I still do all the field dressing and butchering, but I do alot of eating too, o it evens out. LOL As long as sh makes the kill, I will do the rest.

she used to get a bit scared while we were night hunting and you could hear hogs coming through the woods, but since she has gone with me so many times to check the traps and seen hogs of all sizes up close, and has now shot her first, she really loves going after them.
Will see how she does on her first exotic sheep hunt in Sep.
