Anyone shoot a P345?
« on: February 13, 2008, 04:41:01 PM »
I'm thinking about getting one these new 345 ruger pistols. Everyone I have looked at so far fits my hand well and looks to be of exceptional ruger quality. I have a ruger vaquero and a ruger 44 mag carbine and both have been ultra reliable. But this would be my first ruger autopistol. Anybody have any reviews and or opinions on this gun. Thanks alot

A good friend of mine has one, and a shooting session later had me wanting one... but the better sense of my wallet got ahold of me!  It's a great feeling gun to me also, and shoots very well.  Never had a jam, smooth action and trigger, really a nice setup.

I would recommend one.

I have one.  I picked up the gun for $300 and tried a box of the Hornady personal protection ammo.  I loaded the clip at one of my silhouette matches.  I shot at full size chicken targets at 50 yards, 8 shots, as fast as I could pull the trigger.  When the brass quit flying, 3 chickens were down and I was smiling from ear to ear.  My first time shooting a 45, all shots were into an area that could easily provide personal protection, and gun performed flawlessly.  Now instead of carrying my P95, I carry the 345.  It packs a little more power and hides a little easier.
