removal of a dovetailed front sight?

which direction does a dovetail sight need to be drifted to be removed..I have tried both ways and it seems very stubborn!

The sight should be removed from left to right.Doug

Is this a standard direction for all dove tails, not just Handi's?

Measure the base of the dovetail, one side is usually slightly smaller, knock it out for the small side.
