You have some good choices listed in the poll. In addition to those I also like the 257 weatherby and the 280. Of course someone could select 7mm in your poll and mean the 280 since you don't specify which 7mm.

Thats a simple one for me. The 25-06 is perfect in my eyes for the game you listed. Fast and flat shooting with mild recoil. On top of that I have never had a 25-06 that was not extremely accurate. I like shooting Nosler Ballistic Tips or Accubonds. Favorite factory round is the Winchester Super X with 120 gr PEP.

6MM of course. It handles the larger bullets much better that the 243.
This is one of my all time favorite cartridges and I am considering a MGM barrel in this cal.
Choice 2 would be the 25-06.

You omitted to obvious choices - .260 Remington and the 6.5/.284. My choice would be the .260 Remington, I voted for the .25-06, but I've taken all of goats and many deer with a .243 and 100 gr. Nosler Partitions, go figure.

If I were limited to one cartridge and of those listed for those critters, it would be the .25-06. Although I could live with any of those listed and make them work just fine. And there is nothing wrong with all the others that have been mentioned.

I voted 7mm-08, but my vote would go for 260 Remington
