Night Sights for Contender
« on: January 30, 2008, 09:38:23 AM »
I have a Contender with a 10" barrel that I want to use at night Coyote hunting.

Has anyone fitted night sights to the standard barrel with iron sights?

I have searched the manufacturers and also ran a search on this forum.  Closest thing I have found is the stick-on glow-in-the-dark product.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thx

No one has ever done this?

I guess I'm a little surprised.

Seems somehow you could use an existing style night site and modify it.

Guess not huh.  Got no answer as my answer.

Are you asking about a night vision scope on see thru mounts above iron sights?  If so, you might be able to have a rear sight filed to be soldered inside the rear ring.  Just a thought.

No.  I'm thinking Mepros or Trijicons.

Ideas?  Anyone?

Not exactly what you want ,but I did use a laser dot mounted to a scope for this a few years ago. The "Beam shot" laser would project a dot on the target. I used a night vision device to see the dot and aim it at the coyotes. I used a 7br barrel for it's flat shooting and accuracy. The "dot" would show up as a bright white spot and was sighted to the guns point of impact at 200 yards. It would be within 1 1/2 inch of bullet impact at any range out to about 200 yards. I could have the gun out to the side at arms length and STILL hit a coyote.
