Small Rifle Primers
« on: February 29, 2008, 02:08:47 PM »
A few years ago I purchased several boxes of large rifle BR primers and just discovered that I mistakenly purchased two packages of small rifle primers.  What calibers use small rifle primers.  Maybe I know someone who can use them.

Don't forget the 204Ruger and I believe the 17 cal centerfires use them also.

222 Remington Magnum, 22 PPC, 6mm X 47mm, 6mm BR, 6mm PPC (already mentioned), T/C TCU cartridges (based on 223). Most 100 and 200 yard Bench Rest cartridges use small rifle primers. I just named a few of the most popular. For a while there were some 308 cases based on small rifle primers. I do not know if they are still being made. I am sure there are others that are even more obscure.

Correct me if I am wrong please.
Didn't I read some place that some 6.8 Rem cases use large and some use the small rifle primers

I guarantee that you won't have to look far before you find someone that you know who reloads small rifle.  You could probably trade them to one of your reloading buddies dead-even for some LR.
