I got a new used recurve hopefully will get out and shoot it tomorrow if weather cooperates or may go to local shop and shoot a bit if i can get other stuff done. The bow is a bear archery bearcat. It came with a new string, glove, some arrows and a quiver, and armguard.

Hey Illhunter thats great! I've owned a few old bear archery recurve bows and they shot great. Whats the length of the bow? and the draw weight? Are you shooting wood arrows? Thats what I've shot the most over the years, I'm partial to cedar, it seems to be best for consistent spine and thus your accuracy. Anyway,...best of luck with the old vintage classic! scout4<><

Here's a web site to check out www.stickbow.com there you will find out alot about traditional archery. If your draw length is 27" with this bow and you want to shoot wooden arrows and if you're shooting right off the arrow shelf then I would shoot a 29"long 5/16" dia. cedar arrow spined at 40# fletched with 5" or 5.5" high back shield cut feathers in a helical, an use 100 grain heads. The broadhead is your choice, but I like zwicky they make broadheads for 5/16" arrows. Hope this helps ya some. scout4<><
