That's going to be kind of tough to get reliable knockdown on the rams with a slow 145gr bullet. Load them hot enough to be close to 100% and the recoil is right up there. I think I'd try IMR 4895, around 20.0 grains and see where you ended up. The full load is around 26.0 gr, and it doesn't mind being reduced as far as about 65%. You might also try some IMR 4198  and possibly Blue Dot. You'll have to experiment to see how slow you can go and still drop the rams, but it'll probably not be much below 1400 fps.

reduced 7TCU loads

The load I am currently using is a real puppydog.  It is reliable on properly set rams.  Consists of the RCBS 145sil bullet (cast from WW it weighs around 150gr).  WSR primer, 8.0gr Unique.  I use this in US in a 14 inch contender but have seen it used in a 10 inch barrel with good results also.  Very mild to shoot.  I chronographed it at about 1450 from my barrel.   Hope this helps.

:D Hi Smokin  That load is very close to mine although with jacketed pills, I love Unique in reduced loads.  You are right on point on "Properly Set" Rams.  Last match I borrowed a 357 revolver and shot it with factory 158 gr lead round nose .38 specials and hit 5 rams.  All 5 fell (though very slowly ;~)
This was after we releveled the rails and had a good long discussion on how to properly set a ram ie find the topple point and only move it forward enough for stability (usually 1/4 to 1/2 inch).  If a 10 mph wind is blowing and a Ram doesn't fall down now and then most likely the Rams are set heavy (read that illegally).

Have fun and enjoy that reduced load!

Try using 18.5 gr IMR4198.  I used 145 gr Speer, crono avg 1569fps, SD 18, ES 51, Hi 1598, Lo 1547.  Try AA 5744 also.  I'm presently working on a new load using 17.8gr IMR 4227 with Remington bulk 140 gr.
