What are you guys paying for gas in your neck of the woods?
« on: February 23, 2008, 02:49:25 PM »
I'd never imagine seeing gas over $3.00 a gallon in my area.  It is $3.10 for regular and $3.55 for diesel.  I've read where it could get bad this summer..Maybe in the $3.75-$4.00 range.  I'd just like to know someone else is paying these ridiculous prices, it would help me feel better....

I saw it for 3.09  a couple days ago. I remember gas costing around .24 or .25 cents a gallon. I sure miss those days.

Doesn't it make you stop and wonder what the price might be if the Dumbycrats had allowed drilling in Anwar and if it were possible to build new refineries in this country?  And not to let the Bushes off the hook, if there's oil off the coast of Florida, that should be fair game.  Same for California.

Regular at the cheap station was $3.07 yesterday.

$3.99 here. I can remember it at .19 cents when a gas war would break out and drop the price from .23-.25 cents a gallon. Of course minimum wage was about .75 cents an hour.

Driving my wife to her physical therapy Thursday I noticed diesel was 3.24.9 a gal.  I told her I need to stop and get fuel, but she insisted we could not make her appointment on time if we did, so I relented and said I will get it on the way home.  Two hours later I drove into the station and started pumping fuel, about half way full I glanced over at the sign, it had been changed to 3.44.9 a gal.  Diesel went up here due to the fire at the Big Springs refinery.  I remember buying diesel for .10 a gal, I could fill the truck for 2.80, today it takes 75.00 to fill her up.  Diesel took a heck of a jump in price when the government placed the requirement on the refineries to remove the sulfates.

It's $319. in Mich. in my area. The last few days I've seen it at $319. in the morning and $309. in the afternoon. Same station. This price jerking up and down happened three days in a row. Just keep it at one ridiculous price and leave it there.

Here is the link to the national gas price temperature map.  You can see the daily average price in every county in the nation color coded in 5 cent increments.

I go to school in West Tn and live in Nashville, Tn. Gas in both places is $3.00 to $3.30. About two weeks ago I filled up before coming back to school and actually filled up for $2.69 at the Percy Preist Dam exit. I have two tanks on my truck so I got to pay $80 instead of $100 to fill up.

$3.00 per gallon and I have been putting out close to $30 buck a day everyday and $45 every three days... long story but running your house on generators is a costly way to go...

Matt do you run your house completely off of generators? I could see how that would become very costly very quick!

Due to a underhanded landlord and AL Power being unwilling to look at facts yes I am running my whole house on 2 5.6kw generators running in parallel for a total of 10.2kw with a 17.2kw surge... It is a rough way to go and very costly with over $700 in 2 weeks now. We have found a new house but are about $2k away from having enough to move in so until then then generators will have to do.

I paid $3.83 per gal for Diesel yesterday.  Gasoline was $3.63 per gal.  It cost over $130.00 to fill the tank on my truck.  Ouch!  Leaving it parked as much as possible.  Driving my Suzuki Samurai it gets 37Mpg.

Fuel oil is $3.78 per gal when bought in bulk of 100 gal but less than 500 gal.

The ironic part is that the Alaska pipeline runs right behind my house.  There is a tap just up the street that feeds the North Pole refinery.  They refine Diesel and gasoline there, then return the unused portion to the pipeline.  Yet we pay the highest prices in the nation.  They charge just like they had shipped it up here from the lower 48.

$4.25US a gallon:-(   It is threatened to go to $5.70US this summer.   I imagine this will stop Americans from visiting Canada this summer.
Cheers

3.199 Wednesday, the last day I was in town. Sure it is higher now. I really don't understand, oil prices were up yesterday but oil stocks were down. Doesn't make sense.
