fluxing
« on: March 11, 2008, 03:26:09 AM »
This might be a stupid question but the only way to get information is to ask.  I used to cast  bullets along time ago for handguns and you had to flux the lead to mix the tin and antimony back in then skim off the dross.  Do you flux pure lead or just skim off the dross? I would think you would just skim it as you don't want the hardeners in it but I look to the experience on here. Thanks

I don't believe you can remove the tin and antimony by fluxing, it just removes the impurities...I use SnoSeal or beeswax...
