Texas Exotic License Increases

The non-resident 5 day license that you purchase to hunt exotics and hogs will increase from $35.00 to $45.00 effective this upcoming hunting season. The Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission raised all resident and non-resident hunting and fishing license fees recently. These increases can all be reviewed at www.tpwd.state.tx.us/hunt.

they sure did raise em this year.  Wish they hadn't,  but I will till be buying the Super Combo. It comes wth every tag needed for any fishing or hunting except a Fed waterfowl stamp.

It is still a bagain compared to anything else (the $45 Exotic tag).  I started Bowhunting Texas Exotics a little over a year ago & really enjoy the chance to get away & Bowhunt in a nicer climate AFTER our Whitetail season is over(I Bowhunt Ill., Iowa & Ws. usually IF I get a tag) & extend my Bowhunting season.  Kinda nice to GO SOUTH after a bunch of snow(usually).
Of course-I need a Bowhunting fix so am headed out Friday for Hogs n Rams at Shilo in Oklahoma (hot or not-gotta go).

This will be 2nd trip to Shilo-I was there in Early April-I passed a 20 yard shot on a 100# hog & saw hogs from my stand at every sitting.  I could have had shots at 4 different rams at under 20 yards also-ALL very big Rams.  2 of the other 3 hunters took nice hogs while there & saw hogs at every outing also.  I did see some REAL dandies but never close enough for a shot.  Matt & Cheryl are super hosts & have a excellent operation.  I bowhunted hogs on several facilities(7) since Jan. & Shilo is a 5 star as far as I am concerned in every aspect.
I have heard nothing bad about them-only good-I will post how I do-doing the hog/Ram combo.
Packin the Rocky Mountain Broadheads right now.  Oh, I am also taking a 9 year old (to observe) on his FIRST venture into the Bowhunting world.  This should be interesting.
