Just got off the phone with H&R the new slug bbl's that were supposed to be out in March are now not even going to be made til August which means if wer'e lucky they hit the stores late September and I sold both my rifled 20's. You would think that I would of learned by now not to count on dates they set... would not even be surprised if they get cancelled them altogeather. Guess I work on 12ga loads now. Kurt

Ouch, I hope they get here before IL slug season.  I was looking at getting one but still have my 20 USH.  I'll plan on the USH for this fall just to be safe.  That's all if the farm I hunt doesn't sell.

I wonder if the Magnums got pushed back also.

The Handi-mags were cancelled due to insufficient preorders, H&R wasn't willing to spend any more money on final testing when there apparently weren't enough orders placed by distributors.

It doesn't sound like 2008 is starting off too good for H&R/NEF.  With dropping some of their offerings and now not coming through with the new products.  I didn't realize that the preorders played that big a part in the testing and development phase.

I ordered a 20 Gauge TDC from Wal-Mart a month ago. The guy behind the counter called the distributor
and they said they'd be getting some in soon. I emailed H&R and they said they won't have any until end
of April early May.
I might try to change the order to something else that's in stock.

THIS IS WHAT IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO.  Stunts like this is WHY there are no distributor orders.  Hang on to what ya have and scoop up any DEALS ya can.  If they go the way of the H&R handguns, they will be worth more than double in a few years.

I had a versapack lined up for him, but dropped the ball and lost the deal.  I thought I could make it up to him by finding some other rare handi.   
When you see the WTU edition tracker1 he is getting there should be no sympathy for him not getting the new '08 slug barrel.
