Finally got to shoot my 17HMR
« on: December 12, 2002, 12:47:37 PM »
Finally got to put some distance in front of my 17HMR barrel today!  The results were awsome!
25 meters=One hole
50 meters=.20"
75 meters=.50"
At 100 meters I shot 10 3round groups, Two I plain flubed up. Out of the remaining 8 groups all were under 1". The four best groups measured .70", .60", .45", and the best= .25"!!! At 108yds. I was flabergasted to say the least. P-dogs under 150yds better take cover.  KN

Mine shoots that good also.  It is a fun round to play with.  Hopefully I will shoot a deer Saturday morning so I can play with the rodents in the woods with it the rest of the weekend.

No kidding, I can't get over how flat it shoots between 50meters and 100. I heard a rumor that some other manufacturers are going to start producing the 17 HMR ammo. Hope its true. Any one else heard this?  KN

Fun ain't it!!!  I got a 24" NEF last summer(because it was all I could find) and then a Super 14". Both shoot great!  Put both through the 35P at the same time and was amazed to find Super 14" within a 100fps of the rifle.
GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt

At first that surprised me, but considering the case capacity I bet the shorter barrel is almost as efficient. KN
